Inspirational Charitable Organisation Welah

GISDA is a finalist in the Inspirational Charitable Organisation in the  The Mental Health and Wellbeing Wales Awards 2024

GISDA is extremely proud to have been shortlisted in the Inspirational Charitable Organization category in the Mental Health and Wellbeing  Wales Awards 2024. The award in this category goes to a charity that has shown commitment and innovation, given examples of good practice best, and have provided sustainable and beneficial mental health and wellbeing solutions to the communities and individuals they support. All GISDA services and projects place a huge emphasis on the mental health and well-being of young people. Here's what our young people say:

'I feel much less alone and it's nice to be in the company of people who consider my mental health'

' I feel that I can cope better with group activities now. I have more confidence to talk about my mental health and I am more aware of when I start to deteriorate and what this looks like. I can ask for help and support before I reach a crisis. I'm also more willing to try different things that might help me'

'I'm a young mother in Pwllheli. The cooking sessions and Never Not A Mother are fantastic, I really enjoy them and I feel that I talk more and get advice from the rest of the group.'

'I've learned that it's okay not to be okay and to ask for help'

'The trip taught me so much about myself, I was thousands of miles out of my comfort zone. I'm more capable than I think'

The GISDA team is looking forward to going to Cardiff at the beginning of October for the Mental Health and Wellbeing Conference in Wales and the awards ceremony.
